Not adaptive, but on the Republic side I really like the look of a lot of the Armormech crafted sets. The set is available fairly early (around level 21ish).After the latest Cartel pack, my main Trooper is wearing the chest/legs, but the gloves/boots/helmet of that set look fairly terrible, so I swapped them out with my favourite helmet, gloves, and boots (although you could instead use a number of lower level pieces). This is what it looks like - Sadly there is all sorts of clipping going on with the shoulders, at least with body type 3, which pisses me off to no end with stuff they are flogging on the Cartel Market. The best part about Troopers is that all your companions (bar the droids) are heavy armour/Aim mainstat, same as you. Makes gearing super easy, as they can just get all your hand-me-downs. Or any time you get bored of a look, the gear won't go to waste.Edit: Oh, a couple of others I forgot that are both adaptive. The first is the, which is a bit drab but looks ok with a dye: Not a fan of the helmet though, so I'd either hide that or swap it with a crafted/loot one that looks a bit more Trooperish.

But for fans of that bandolier-style chest, no backpack! The second is the, which for some stupid reason has paint splotches all over it, but you can mostly mask that with dyes: If you don't like the stormtrooper helmet, you can always swap it out with something else. Not adaptive, but on the Republic side I really like the look of a lot of the Armormech crafted sets.

The Tempered Laminoid set is available fairly early (around level 21ish).The set is the level 24 Armormech set. I've used it for all my Troopers both because it avoids the and asymmetric shoulderpiece fetishes that Bioware's art department seems to have, and because it's inherently white/red, which means that you can give all your companions that chestpiece and, with 'Unify Colors', have everyone in suits that are color-matched to M1-4X without using dyes (and with attention to the other armor pieces, put your squad in a uniform - military personnel in a uniform, what a concept). If you look online at the Cartel Market packs, there are several really nice armor sets now beyond what the Armormech guys can make. Don't get me wrong, something like the Phobium Onslaught looks fantastic (even though that is fairly high level, unfortunately) but there are multiple sets that are very nice - in the current packs, the Frontline Veteran set, and in now discontinued packs the Energized or Galvanized Infantry is awesome looking. There are several great choices out there, just hit up and go through what's out there. Some of it will be unavailable, some of it will be painfully expensive on the GTN and some will be easy. Just pick what you like.
I always hear people saying all the cool armors are only on the cartel market in SWTOR - but there's a lot of cool stuff you can only earn in the game! In this video we'll be going over some awesome trooper armor that can only be crafted by Armormechs in SWTOR.Troopers, Jedi and Smugglers can wear this armor with the outfit designer, but most of them change appearance if passed to the Imperial side. You can technically buy these armors on the GTN, but they are often not listed for sale. It's better to try and find an Armormech who will craft you a set!
